A 14th-century palazzo near Piazza Duomo is the setting for this museum-like restaurant, where you can dine on Tuscan dishes such as squab in a white-grape sauce beneath recently uncovered frescoes, including the earliest known portraits of the poets Dante and Boccaccio.
Definitely on Florence’s most desirable restaurant list, Alle Murate is intimate and discreet.

Creatively prepared Tuscan cuisine and fish dishes are of the highest quality and the wine waiter is on hand to help you choose a suitable accompaniment from the restaurant’s impressive cellar.
One of the best choices in Firenze. With breathtaking frescoes showing portraits of Dante and Boccaccio in what used to be a public building, you can experience a modern-tuscan cuisine with an excellent wine list.
It’s a wonderful blend of architectural styles between the modern layout, lighting and walls and the frescoes and vaulted ceiling. Make sure to check out the basement where the owners are unearthing a roman foundation. Way cool.
